Frequently Asked Questions

What’s your photographic style?

I would say my shooting style is more photojournalistic than anything else. I’ll pose, give suggestions, even ask you to do some movements, but for the most part I’m capturing what already exists. I’m a very laid back shooter who likes to talk and get to know my client(s).

Where will our session take place?

That’s 100% up to you! I will be more than happy to offer suggestions and voice any concerns I may have, but we’ll work together to pick the perfect spot.

How long is a photo session?

A family/portrait session is up to an hour. I usually get all my shots in about 40 minutes, but will go up to an hour if I feel there’s a need to.

Do you deliver every photo you shoot?

No. For portrait and family sessions I will take between 200 – 500, but not all those photos will be usable.

Can I get all the images you took even if they’re not edited? Can I get the RAW files?

Simple and straightforward answer is no. I don’t release any unedited photos, unless I’m showing a before/after edit for teaching purposes. But don’t worry, I give you the best ones and trash all the half blinks and double chin shots

How many images will I receive?

For portrait/family sessions I promise at least 30 finished/edited images.

How will I receive my images?

You will be able to view your edited images on an online gallery that you can share with family and friends.  The online gallery is where you’ll download your photo files.

When will I receive my images?

You will receive access to your online gallery no later than 3 weeks after you session date.

When do I pay you?

A $50 deposit is due at time of booking. This is non refundable, but I do take sickness and military obligations into consideration. The balance may be paid at time of session.

How do I pay you?

To be more efficient I do mostly everything online, including payment. You’ll have the option to pay with any major credit card or with PayPal. Though the deposit must be paid online, I can accept cash for the remaining balance at the time of our session.

Where are you located? Do you travel?

I’m located in North County San Diego and I definitely travel. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’re outside of San Diego County!

What gear do you use?

Mostly a Canon 5D mark III and a prime lens or two. For most of my “personal” work I use a Fuji XT1 with a 23mm lens.
